Library News

Jackson-Keller Library Happenings:

Welcome to the Jackson-Keller Library. There are new books in English and Spanish for you to check out. We have new databases for you to explore and use. The library also has new computers, e-books and so much more!

Library Happenings:

Six Flags: Read to Succeed: We are so excited for the 50+ students who read and earned a free ticket to Six Flags, Fiesta Texas this summer. Information about this year's program will be coming. Those were distributed in May. Great job Jackrabbits! Keep reading!

FallBook Fair: We had a very successful Spring book fair. We sold over $6,000 and are so excited about the new books and special programming that we'll be able to have in our library due to the fabulous support JK readers showed by purchasing items from our book fair. Thank you for supporting our library. Our Fall Book Fair will be November 17th-21st (right before we get out for Thanksgiving). We are always looking for volunteers to help! Join us for some great fun!

4th Grade Battle of the Books: Mrs. Niederhofer's students did a fabulous job competing against other NEISD schools at Lopez Middle School on May 19th in the District Battle. We are so proud of all their hard work and dedication. What a powerful sign of the power of reading! New Battle books will be announced soon for the 2014-15 school year.

3rd Grade Battle of the Books: Our 3rd grade students were so excited to hear about getting to participate in the 3rd Grade Battle this year. Students have Battle books in their rooms to check out from their teacher. So, keep reading those Battle titles.

E-books:Students have really been enjoying learning how to check out e-books from Overdrive on the North East website. The district offers English and Spanish titles and continues to add more titles to their collection. If you have suggestions for additional e-book titles, please come see Mrs. Darilek.

Thank you SA North Central Rotary: Jackson-Keller Library would like to thank the San Antonio North Central Rotary Club for their generous donation of books for our library. We are so fortunate to have their support. We love our new books!
