The mission of the Lopez Middle School Library is to create a student-centered library media center that empowers our students to seek information in all areas of their life including academic, informational, and recreational. It is our goal to provide students with current intellectually and culturally diverse resources that foster the student's love of literature. The library also seeks to ensure students acquire information literacy skills that enable them to be productive 21st Century learners.

In addition to support provided by a student aides, the Lopez Middle School library has about a dozen regular volunteers. These volunteers have been instrumental in shelving books and assisting with special projects such as book fairs, and author visits. They have also provided coverage during my lunch, thus allowing for the library to remain open during all student lunches.
The library close was closed 8.0 days for standardized testing/retakes, 2.0 days for staff development, and 1 day for laptop deployment.
The library was closed for a few hours throughout the day for the following: PTA , AVID, and Voting.
