Summer Reading Program

The Program

Jump in to the Nimitz Library Summer Reading Program and grab the opportunity to check out 10 books for the summer.  To get involved, download the Sign Up form from below or pick it up from the Library.  Get a parent or guardian to sign it and return it to the Library and pick up the 10 books of your choice before the end of the school year.

If you did not register before the end of the school year, please register here. Your Google login is required.  If you have difficulty logging in, please contact Mr. Ahlen at jahlen@neisd.net.

The Contest...

...is open to current 6th and 7th grade students enrolled at Nimitz/STEM.  The books you read do not have to be the ten Nimitz Library books.  They can be from the Public Library, Overdrive eBooks, your home library -- if it's a book it counts.

For every 200 pages read, your name will be entered into a drawing for the following prizes.

  • Grand Prize -- Kindle eBook Reader
  • 2nd Prize -- $20 gift certificate for the Fall Bookfair
  • 20% off for all participants at the Fall Bookfair

There is limitation of 5 times a student's name can be entered.  Participants will need to keep a reading log of all books read and make sure a parent signs off for each one.

All reading logs must be returned to the Library by Friday, August 29th, 2014 to be eligible for the drawing.

A Reminder...

If your child changes school districts over the summer, please return the books to a summer school location or to Library Services at the main NEISD office.  However, if you remain in NEISD, you can just hang on to them and give them to your new librarian when school starts in August.
